lyrics
I am no one’s capital
Not a thought to spare for me
A checker wishing just to be
A pawn
I am no one’s counterpoint
Condescended by them all
While others get their lip service
I’m nothing
When we reclaim
Light shall return
Pat Boone, Debbie Boone
I am no one’s favorite son
All the others in my place
They take and never give a thing
for me
I am no one’s anything
And the arbiters of truth
They bury what I’ve always known
Is real
Lying in wait
The sum of your fears
Giving you your turn
Take in your hands
The rules that they gave you
Want to watch them burn?
alternative perception
when I tell you what to see
alternative deduction
when I take everything I need
alternative conditions
the chaos that i breed
alternative rendition
guaranteed
alternative permission
when you can't say no
alternative prediction
when i bet on what i know
alternative completion
when all is said and done
you'll know the game is over
when I've won
Lying in wait
The sum of your fears
Giving you your turn
Take in your hands
The rules that they gave you
Want to watch them burn?
I know that a patient man must learn to lose before he learns to win
Ego bruises are a side effect of finally playing the game
Rubbing dirt onto my knees while biding time for glorious new days
I can see the victory it's just around the corner I have faith
Just like other pawns before
Now they've got it made
(Hold up the weight)
Want to watch them burn
Want to watch them burn
Want to watch them burn
Do you want to watch them burn
Let's watch them burn
Speak to me my eyes grow wider
Speak to me and I’ll follow
Speak of me as a reminder
Speak of me and we are one
Discard me for I will follow
Discard me for I'll forgive
Speak to me
Speak of me
Discard me
Lying in state
all that you hold dear
Traveled too far to turn
Do you remember
The soul that you traded
Want to watch it burn?
Watch it burn

So glad to have discovered this great band. Heard first on the Thought Radio show last week. Great melodies over powerful Prog Rock with many beautiful moments. This is something special. I am getting a bit of a Rush type vibe but much more also. What an album this is and I will need to get the CD also. Too many great tracks to chose a best one yet. thirdsystem

The Long Island metal band's third album etches arena-sized hooks into their jagged compositions, deftly balancing experimental and poppy inclinations. Bandcamp Album of the Day May 12, 2022

Although the 3 guest vocalists on this album sing wonderfully, and the songs are diverse and creative, I still prefer the voice of Peter Falconer. Still, I highly recommend this album, aware that my preference is somewhat of a bias. Some of the guitar playing on here is incredible. Despite the new vocalists, the sound of this album is still distinctly Drifting Sun. Personally, I give it 7.5/10. Alrihkh

As with previous releases this is a solid album from start to finish which continues the storyline, themes and signatures perfectly.
'Enigma' and 'Another Same' are on par with or superior to many commercial offerings by established prog artists.
The Waters, Wilson and Hayward influences shine through once more but I also hear song writing very much in the style of Difford and Tilbrook, 'Trough of War' & 'Another Same' probably being the best examples.
These chaps are the real deal!
